Shannon and here is the deal. If it can be a dive boat to take a hammer and was on one side of the rivet and hammer and a second strike on the opposite side quickly and do not destroy, rivets leak. If a hole you can use JB Weld Aluminum, when used correctly, and enter a temporary solution until you and take a plate can Migg. If you are not sure about at the edges. We were cold welding JB spent the entire season, if your money. Fiberglass does not work, never did. Hope this helps.

I fix a lot of aluminum cans, riveted with an attached hammer should be sealed, what something is wet for the elastic mastic sealant and Dolly riveting exhaust area very secure .. Marine Goop works well, you can buy at Wal-Mart .. If friction is a problem, Bow .. should be a soldier ... TIG or MIG .. possible to fill the gaps because of the heat to the seal between the sounds of fire ... I hope this will help you .... Good Luck

We repair boats in my shop. We use a piece of aluminum and TIG welding is really the only way to fix it. It is also a patch will be long. The reason we use a patch is because most of the holes lie on these boats is a gradual erosion of the aluminum in the execution on the banks of lakes and rivers.
